Refugees and those granted Humanitarian Protection are entitled to bring pre-existing spouses and children (under 18) to the UK following a grant of status. Children granted refugee status may apply for their parents to join them in the UK in some circumstances.
There are no requirements in relation to maintenance and accommodation.
However, it will be necessary to demonstrate that the family members were pre-existing family members by providing evidence in support of the relationship such as birth certificates and passports. Other forms of proof may be applicable where these are not available.
It is occasionally possible to bring additional family members to the UK where there are compelling compassionate reasons. Such cases will depend upon the particular circumstances of the case and will generally require the case being considered by an Immigration Judge.
