Obtaining A UK Student Visa
You need to be aged at least 16 to secure a student visa in your own right, and if you are 16 or 17, you will also need your parents’ consent.
You must be competent in English.
It is a visa application requirement that you have been offered a place on a full-time or part time course by an educational establishment that has been licensed to sponsor overseas students.
You will also need to be able to provide evidence that you have sufficient funds to both pay for the course and support yourself.

The Points-Based System Of Visa Application
To obtain a Student visa, applicants must have a total of at least 70 points under the points-based immigration system.
10 points will be awarded for showing that you have sufficient funds, to a specified level, to pay for your course and support yourself throughout its duration.
10 points will be awarded for English language proficiency
50 points will be awarded for your offer of a place on a qualifying course.
Bringing Dependants Under A Tier 4 Student Visa
Only certain students can bring dependants to the UK. If you qualify and can show that you have enough money to support them, you may be able to bring family members to the UK with you while you are studying. This includes your spouse or partner and children under the age of 18. We can advise you of eligibility and the financial requirements for bringing dependants to the country.
Length Of Stay For Students With UK Visa
Normally, a student visa granted for a degree course will allow you to remain in the UK for the duration of the course plus 1 month before starting and 4 months after completion of course.
There may be the opportunity to extend your period of stay, for example if you wish to go on to take a higher degree.
You are permitted to arrive in the UK up to a month before your course starts, provided it is longer than six months in duration (unless it is a pre-sessional course). For shorter courses, you can arrive a week before the start date.
