How Do I Make A Spouse Visa Application?
A spouse visa application is made online. You will need to ensure you have documentary evidence showing that you meet all of the eligibility criteria. We can work with you to identify which documents you have that will be most effective. These will generally include:
- Your marriage certificate
- Evidence of your marriage ceremony
- Evidence of your ongoing relationship, such as photos, letters and social media posts
- Bank statements demonstrating that you meet the financial requirements
- Details of the accommodation you will be living in
- Evidence that you meet the minimum English language standard, such as the results of an approved English language test
Other information is also needed when applying for a UK visa, and this includes:
- Your valid passport or other photographic travel identity document; your passport should have a blank page available for the visa
- A copy of the photo page and visa stamps in any expired passports
- Your name, date of birth and biometric identity information
- Whether you have made any previous visa applications
- Information on any criminal convictions you have
- Your parents’ names, dates of birth and nationality, if you are not applying from within the UK
- Tuberculosis test results, if you are from an affected country
- Your national insurance number, if you have been issued with one
Any documents that are not in English or Welsh must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Your application must be accompanied by payment of the spouse visa application fee.
